What will this group of Phone activists do: When we need to act(phone police and other authority, offices) we will call up and insist that justice be served, we can also send phonograms. Phonograms can be booked by dailling 1585(in mumbai from MTNL phones), please check with your telephone(MTNL/BSNL) directory for the booking number in your area. Essentially this group will act as a pressure group calling up the erring officials by phone and insisting that justice be served, whatever may be the situation(illegal arrests, wrong actions by public authorities, etc..)

We have enough volunteers now, we just need all local groups to identify some volunteers representing their groups, which we will do as we proceed.
As Suresh had informed chennai already has a set group of members who are doing phone activism, we need volunteer groups like this attached to all our local groups/NGOs. For now we will make a webpage available with all the volunteers for phone activism(phonogram, sms, calls to authorities for insisting that justice be done, in any kind of situation(arrest, illegal harassment by police, any other harassment by any authority)).
Can Rudy, Gorky or SFF provide a webpage to list all the phone activists all over world(phone numbers could be hidden on request). And also create a forwarding email id which sends email to all in the group in case of some coordination communication is to be done(this I/Rudy can do using siftimes.com or protectindianfaily.org domains, say with phoneaction (at) siftimes (dot) com).

We can display these contact details(along with your numbers) in the webpage below, so that its visible for all, but if you wish not to disclose(you can use a nick name) to public it will be known only among the Phone Activism team.
We now each each local group/NGO to inform their team of Phone activism volunteers, so that we get representatives from all India/World(calls from world-over will have a better chance to shake up the erring authorities and yield results for us).

Hi All,
As the first case we could take today’s incident in Kolkatta, where the Husbands father was assualted by the girls father. Though he did not die, as Nilkanth wrote in his mail quoted below(I clarified with D.S.Rao now), the police has registered the complaint and will be taking up investigations in 24 hours, as per the assurance our SIF-Kolkatta members got after their protest/Dharna when police refused to lodge a complaint in this regard.
Kolkatta Members now need all media emails since they will be issuing a press release about the How safe senior citizens are in West begal, so members are requested to send the email they have to D.S.Rao( dadisrao (at) gmail (dot)com) or Niladri (niladri_shekhar_das_in (at) yahoo.co.in)

I am very keen to join the group and extend maximum possible service. I am also a victim of the misuse of 498a, but fortunately or unfortunately the case was quashed by the withdrawl of the complaint by the girl after her parents successfully extorted a huge amount from my family. As I could not fight the case in court, I did not learn much.
I finally decided to fight against the menace and have filed a case for divorce and another for Extortion against the girl party recently.
My little knowledge is derived from the internet only. I have attended a meeting of Bharat Bachao Sangathan at Kolkata and was amazed to the kind of selfless work Mr.Vineet Ruia and his team doing for the victims. I only wish, I can do something like that.
